Mark Gottfried 'Committed To Being At NC State'

Mark Gottfried ended his Twitter silence Wednesday night to reassure NC State fans that he isn't planning on going anywhere. So I think we can relax now. I mean you never know with these things, but smoke 'em if you got 'em.

The longer he remained silent as the UCLA rumors churned, the more concerned people were getting, so a quick comment is much appreciated. Something more formal could come at some point in the next few days, but this is plenty sufficient. Whether all of this talk results in a little salary bump remains to be seen. Shaka Smart parlayed the interest he received from UCLA into a huge extension, though the interest from UCLA in that case was likely a tad more significant.

On to the yearly Bobby Lutz Watch, as there's no telling what else might develop in his case. Lutz was in the mix for the head coaching job at Troy earlier this offseason, though the school ended up going with a different candidate.
