Chris Kingston Named Athletics Director At Bowling Green

NC State's athletics department lost Chris Kingston over the weekend -- Kingston accepted the AD job at Bowling Green. It is by most accounts a tough loss for NCSU, but it's also reassuring to know that we've had good people working in the department. Credit to Debbie Yow for spotting Kingston's talents and hiring him away from Army. All the best to him at BGSU.

"I am overwhelmed by the honor and privilege of serving as the director of athletics at Bowling Green State University," Kingston said. "I want to thank President Mazey and the search committee for their confidence in me and I am humbled by the responsibility of leading the student-athletes, coaches and staff at Bowling Green. My family and I are excited about the opportunities ahead as we join the Falcon family."

He may be tossed into the fire sooner than later, too. I exchanged a few emails with BGSU beat writer John Wagner and it sounds like Kingston could be conducting coaching searches in football and basketball in the near future.
