B.J. Hill, Kalen McCain Commit To NC State

Mitch Stringer-US PRESSWIRE

NC State added a pair of players to its 2014 class on Wednesday, beginning with defensive end B.J. Hill, who is from the Charlotte area. Hill is the fifth prospect from Charlotte to commit to the Wolfpack so far. The consensus three-star recruit picked State over UNC and ECU.

The second commitment came from defensive back Kalen McCain, who was until earlier this week committed to play for Virginia Tech. According to 247Sports, he had been committed to the Hokies for about two months before choosing to re-open his recruitment, and then it only took him a couple of days to pick NC State. That's college football recruiting for you.

With 11 commitments in hand--nine of them from in-state players--NC State has the 28th-best class in the country according to Rivals. That's a pretty solid seven months for a new coaching staff and hopefully a sign of bigger recruiting victories in the future.
