Deshaywn Middleton Pledges to the Pack

You don't have to turn off that red light.

USA TODAY Sports

Deshaywn Middleton became the 22nd verbal commitment in first-year head coach Dave Doeren's first full recruiting class when he tweeted his intention to run with the Pack this morning. Middleton, a 6-2, 295 defensive tackle prospect from Winston-Salem Parkland High, chose N.C. State over Duke, Wake Forest, and, most notably, Clemson.

Middleton is a consensus three-star recruit. Rivals likes him the most among the major recruiting sites, ranking him as the 39th best DT in the nation and 23rd best recruit in the state of North Carolina. N.C. State was one of only 12 schools to get pledges from two Rivals top 50 DTs (Kenton Gibbs and Monty Nelson) in 2013, so the future of the interior defensive line is looking as bright as...well a red light, of course.
