K'Hadree Hooker No Longer Part of the Program

And a shocked WPN is left to wonder: why?

Streeter Lecka

K'Hadree Hooker sent out some ominous tweets earlier today and, shortly thereafter, N.C. State officials confirmed that the redshirt freshman is no longer on the football team. No explanation for his dismissal has been given, though academic issues can probably be ruled out given the odd timing. School just started.

The season for N.C. State starts in just nine days. Hooker was behind returning starters T.Y. McGill and Thomas Teal but figured to get some snaps with the second-team unit. As defensive line depth is a team strength, his loss will likely not be felt immediately, but he appeared to be an excellent long-term prospect. He was a consensus three-star, top-50 at his position talent out of South Lenoir High School. He had four SEC offers and was coveted by just about every team in the ACC.

Here are the tweets that foreshadowed news of his dismissal:

And here is what he had to say just a couple of weeks ago:

There is nothing in his feed to indicate that there were problems; this seems so out of left field. I bet that meddling #ncstateshit had something to do with it. Probably ticked that Cat's foot is OK, so it took out Big Hook instead.
