The #goacc Moment of the Week (2/17/2015)

The weekly in-depth look at the best (worst?) moments in ACC schadenfreude.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Boy, what a hell of a battle we had last week here on the #goacc Moment of the Week. As I predicted, it came right down to the wire, before ultimately the ACC Network's absurd fail of using Jacoby Brissett's picture for Joel Berry just edged out Boeheim by one vote. Truth be told, I think y'all will have another tough decision on your hands this week, as the #goacc never sleeps - just look at these ridiculous entries! We'll also get your week started right with a fantastic appearance from our good pal Jim Ross. Let's get right down to the vote - which is your #goacc Moment of the Week? Vote below!

1. Rebounding is hard, Clemson (h/t @lebrownlow).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="https://t.co/QJ2vtNCiq8">https://t.co/QJ2vtNCiq8</a></p>&mdash; Lauren Brownlow (@lebrownlow) <a href="https://twitter.com/lebrownlow/status/567494799130116097">February 17, 2015</a></blockquote>

Let's examine this for a minute, shall we? First, the ball hits the Clemson player in the head, THEN he turns away from the ball, and when he finds it, taps the ball AS IT'S ON THE FLOOR OUT OF BOUNDS. Bruh. Come on now. Speaking of things that are difficult...

2. Passing is hard, Miami (h/t @the_Jameson).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Miami?src=hash">#Miami</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BC?src=hash">#BC</a> <a href="https://t.co/pmTiyfFyKV">https://t.co/pmTiyfFyKV</a></p>&mdash; Jameson (@the_Jameson) <a href="https://twitter.com/the_Jameson/status/567416643408887809">February 16, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Somehow, Boston College managed to out-derp Miami in this game. The Eagles had this one won and lost it in double-OT. Gross.

3. Russell Wilson is a big fan of Fifty Shades of Gray.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Thanks for the early showing of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/50ShadesOfGrey?src=hash">#50ShadesOfGrey</a> late last night..&#10;&#10;<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/EmeraldCity?src=hash">#EmeraldCity</a> &#10; &#10; &#10;&#10;Great movie.</p>&mdash; Russell Wilson (@DangeRussWilson) <a href="https://twitter.com/DangeRussWilson/status/566268617050705921">February 13, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Nope, not touching this. Nope. Let's move on.

4. Notre Dame blogger riled up all of the ACC over the weekend (h/t @derekmedlin).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Here&#39;s a thing. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="http://t.co/0nCIdubOg0">http://t.co/0nCIdubOg0</a></p>&mdash; Derek Medlin (@DerekMedlin) <a href="https://twitter.com/DerekMedlin/status/566997113683574784">February 15, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

In case you missed it over the weekend, someone over at One Foot Down decided to throw a can of kerosene on a camp fire and create a scorching hot take of an opinion about the ACC. Essentially, this guy tries to blame Notre Dame's potential NCAA seeding on the ACC's conference play as a whole...not, as @lebrownlow accurately pointed out, their ATROCIOUS nonconference schedule:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Wait…surely that blog didn’t blame ACC slate for a hit to Notre Dame’s NCAA seeding, when they have the No. 350 non-con sched (per Ken Pom).</p>&mdash; Lauren Brownlow (@lebrownlow) <a href="https://twitter.com/lebrownlow/status/566992757974376450">February 15, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

But wait, there's more! That same guy posted a follow up piece trying to "clarify" his position. Props to @MarkEnnis for this:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>It&#39;s your conference. RT <a href="https://twitter.com/OneFootDown">@OneFootDown</a>: People really don&#39;t like it when you say something bad about their conference <a href="http://t.co/noJmIlL6hL">http://t.co/noJmIlL6hL</a></p>&mdash; Mark Ennis (@MarkEnnis) <a href="https://twitter.com/MarkEnnis/status/567307717375959040">February 16, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Contrary to what you might think, Notre Dame, you're as much a part of this conference as the rest of us. Don't like it? Then leave.

5. Uh....be careful there, Kenny Smith (h/t @bencelestino).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> RT <a href="https://twitter.com/bencelestino">@bencelestino</a>: <a href="https://twitter.com/celebrityhottub">@celebrityhottub</a> <a href="https://t.co/JCFtA5FjSM">https://t.co/JCFtA5FjSM</a></p>&mdash; Will Thompson (@thrillis4) <a href="https://twitter.com/thrillis4/status/566794032547102720">February 15, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Not like you have several cameras pointed at you or anything.

6. This Cuse fan bought Boeheim's infamous jacket from last year's Duke game...then wore it (h/t @cusesports44).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> RT <a href="https://twitter.com/cusesports44">@cusesports44</a>: Fan who bought Boeheim&#39;s Ejection Jacket for $14K in auction, is wearing it at game today. <a href="http://t.co/SqTXPqh7J0">pic.twitter.com/SqTXPqh7J0</a></p>&mdash; Will Thompson (@thrillis4) <a href="https://twitter.com/thrillis4/status/566702762218749952">February 14, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Look, I don't know about y'all, but if I spent 14K on a jacket like that, I'd have it in a frame. Just saying.

7. The amount of money UNC had to pay Duke for the damaged visitor's locker room is amazing (h/t @LukeDeCock).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>You can&#39;t make this stuff up. <a href="http://t.co/RKQcAGcNKn">http://t.co/RKQcAGcNKn</a> <a href="http://t.co/1XbQoewbuU">pic.twitter.com/1XbQoewbuU</a></p>&mdash; Luke DeCock (@LukeDeCock) <a href="https://twitter.com/LukeDeCock/status/566304488147808256">February 13, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

FOIA's are amazing y'all. Over 20K for carpet? What is that carpet made out of, crushed gold velvet?

8. Reggie Miller remains the absolute worst (h/t @bubbaprog).

<iframe src="https://vine.co/v/OPlD1mIrgYH/embed/simple" width="300" height="300" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>

Swing and a miss, Reggie. Kyrie went to Duke. (Can this be the impetus that finally gets Reggie off of NBA coverage on TNT?)

9. Let's go to Brad Daugherty to get his opinion on ACC officiating (h/t to our own @akulawolf).

<iframe src="https://vine.co/v/OxmUJuzhXdw/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>

That's a noise I make a lot too when watching ACC refs, Brad.

10. Does this email signify the end of the Brian Gregory era at GT? (h/t @gc_wallace).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>This can&#39;t be good, Brian Gregory. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="http://t.co/KRgbK6MZCX">pic.twitter.com/KRgbK6MZCX</a></p>&mdash; Greg Wallace (@gc_wallace) <a href="https://twitter.com/gc_wallace/status/565996651815256065">February 12, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Methinks it probably does...so soon GT will have two ex-coaches on the payroll. Tough times in Atlanta.

And now, for your moment of zen,

THE JIM ROSS BAH GAWD MOMENT OF THE WEEK!!

Come on, is there any doubt who's going to be in here this week? Without further ado, let's hear the legendary voice call BeeJay Anya's dunk on Louisville:

<iframe src="https://vine.co/v/OP3Bzit60zA/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>

Have a great week everyone, and stay warm!!
