The #goacc Moment of the Week (7/1/2015)

The weekly in-depth look at the best (worst?) moments in ACC schadenfreude.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Welp, no shock at all that UNC's 'crootin tactics won in a romp over the rest of the competition. We haven't had a domination like that in quite some time - that moment alone had well over 100 votes! Moving on, as we start the month of July, the #goacc offseason is ever so slightly slowing down with the college football season getting closer (seriously it'll be here sooner than you think)! That's not to say #goacc ever stops, however. Oh no. We've got another tremendous slate of entries. Unfortunately, our pal Jim Ross is on vacation this week, but he left us a spectacular present. But enough chat, it's time to vote - which is your #goacc Moment of the Week? Vote below!

1. Jahlil Okafor, you've just been drafted by the 76ers. How do you feel? (h/t @Deadspin).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hey Jahlil Okafor, how excited are you to play for the Sixers? <a href=""></a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Deadspin (@Deadspin) <a href="">June 28, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

Well damn. At least J.P. Tokoto looks happy.

2. Georgia Tech announced that Anthony Harrell had been suspended indefinitely. Harrell responded on Twitter that he was transferring to Florida (h/t @SBNationCFB).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Georgia Tech says player is suspended, player says he&#39;s leaving for Florida. <a href=""></a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; SB✯Nation CFB (@SBNationCFB) <a href="">June 27, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

This feels pretty #WelcomeTo2015 to me, in addition to being #goacc. Only in this day and age would you see a member of a football team tweeting back with the football team's official account to dispute he had been suspended.

3. Frank Kaminsky's lack of knowledge about barbecue gets called out by Smithfield's with an assist from ol' Roy (h/t @scnbnc).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hey <a href="">@FSKPart3</a> if you need to be schooled on NC Bar-B-Q, one of our regulars would be more than happy to teach you. <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Smithfield&#39;s NC (@scnbnc) <a href="">June 27, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

In case you missed it, Frank stirred up folks around here after he was asked what he thought of first when he heard the word barbecue, and he responded with "sauce." BRUH. That kinda talk will get you smacked upside your head. Loved how Smithfield's Chicken and BBQ poked the bear on this one too.

4. Louisville center shoots granny-style free throw at FIBA U19 Championships (h/t @BleacherReport).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">VIDEO: Louisville&#39;s Chinanu Onuaku hits Rick Barry-style free throw at FIBA World Championship <a href=""></a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) <a href="">June 27, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

This is so, so fantastic.

5. Chris Christie announced he's running for President, and who's in attendance but...Mike Brey? (h/t @costareports).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Spotted at Christie&#39;s announcement: Notre Dame basketball coach Mike Brey</p>&mdash; Robert Costa (@costareports) <a href="">June 30, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

I'm hoping he was wearing his patented mock turtleneck while he was there.

6. Let's see what the Syracuse mascot is up to these days (h/t @MilesMcQuiggan).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Syracuse mascot throwing out the first pitch here at Citi Field... Balked and then threw it in the dirt in the left-handed batter&#39;s box.</p>&mdash; Miles McQuiggan (@MilesMcQuiggan) <a href="">June 28, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

This tweet is great and all, but moments like this are why Vine was created. Please tell me someone has video of this!

7. Ty Lawson doesn't seem too excited about the Nuggets drafting Emmanuel Mudiay (h/t @YourManDevine).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">From last night: Ty Lawson, after Nuggets pick Emmanuel Mudiay: &#39;I&#39;m going to Sacramento.&#39; <a href=""></a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Dan Devine (@YourManDevine) <a href="">June 26, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

Welp...guess that's the end of the Ty Lawson era in Denver!

8. Who's responsible for these NC State shirts?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">These shirts at the State bookstore....... <a href="">#goacc</a> (h/t <a href="">@areonmobasher</a>) <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Will Thompson (@thrillis4) <a href="">June 25, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

Y'all. Who did this? These are horrible. Who on earth would buy these?

And now, for your moment of wrasslin...

As I mentioned, Good Ol' JR is on vacation this week, but look at this absolutely incredible video that was up on SBNation earlier today. Some sort of gaming tournament took place, and one of the contestants entered like Stone Cold Steve Austin, and it is just the best ever. Check it out:

Have a great week and Fourth of July y'all!
