The #goacc Moment of the Week (7/8/2015)

The weekly in-depth look at the best (worst?) moments in ACC schadenfreude.

In a bit of a surprising result, the twitter interaction between Anthony Harrell and Georgia Tech over whether or not he had transferred or been suspended utterly ran away with the victory. I figured Jahlil Okafor's complete disinterest in the 76ers jersey would take top honors, but y'all proved me wrong on that one. Moving on to this week, we've got another tremendous slate of entries for y'all to vote on, and guess what! Our old pal Jim Ross is back this week to give us some insightful commentary on sports. All that being said, it's now time to vote. Which is your #goacc Moment of the Week? Vote below!

1. ESPN's ACC account jumped the gun a bit on their scheduled Fourth of July tweet (h/t @theBenSwain).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Leaning forward into the future <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="http://t.co/ARcdmmEiuL">pic.twitter.com/ARcdmmEiuL</a></p>&mdash; Ben Swain (@TheBenSwain) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheBenSwain/status/616957172023435265">July 3, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Good lord. This account is seemingly nothing but scheduled tweets, and nobody could get the one for the Fourth of July tweet on the right day?

2. What on earth is happening here, Russell Wilson? (h/t @lana).

<iframe src="https://vine.co/v/e1FmPpebV6P/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>

I'm guessing this is from some sort of Nickelodeon show. Speaking of Russell...

3. Russell Wilson's relationship with Ciara has become quite the topic, and brought out some pretty scorching takes.

If you haven't been following this story (and honestly I have no idea how you haven't been able to, it seems like it's being discussed everywhere), Wilson recently said that he and his girlfriend Ciara are celibate. Ok great. Seeing as it's the reaaaaaallllly slow part of the sports year, naturally this topic has been seized upon by the sports media. Hell, noted master of #sources Chris Broussard tried to start a twitter fight with Bomani Jones about this very topic today.

And then of course, Rob Lowe tweeted this:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">As a <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Seahawks?src=hash">#Seahawks</a> fan, after that Super Bowl debacle, I&#39;m pretty sure Russell Wilson should be thinking about scoring MORE, not less.</p>&mdash; Rob Lowe (@RobLowe) <a href="https://twitter.com/RobLowe/status/618570004473098240">July 7, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I'm not sure I can type enough fire emojis. Good lord, let's move on.

4. The Pack tried to promote football ticket sales during the Rolling Stones concert with puns based on the Stones' songs (h/t @DocHeelFire).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Brilliant cross-marketing or <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a>? <a href="http://t.co/0mCemhbCB5">pic.twitter.com/0mCemhbCB5</a></p>&mdash; Doc Kennedy (@DocHeelfire) <a href="https://twitter.com/DocHeelfire/status/616563109604360192">July 2, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This is spectacularly amazing. #goacc at it's finest. And in case you missed it, the folks over at Every Day Should Be Saturday made some fantastic photoshops of their own based on this picture.

5. Former Boston College player Reggie Jackson just got an Eighty Million dollar contract from the Pistons and hold on I just fainted (h/t @SBNationNBA).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Reggie Jackson has reportedly agreed to re-sign with Detroit on a 5-year, $80 million deal. <a href="http://t.co/ZUi3dcmlVC">http://t.co/ZUi3dcmlVC</a> <a href="http://t.co/MId7EY0xpt">pic.twitter.com/MId7EY0xpt</a></p>&mdash; SB Nation NBA (@SBNationNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/SBNationNBA/status/617877793934737408">July 6, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Of all the dumb contracts that have been handed out in the history of NBA free agency, this has to ROCKET into the top five. Even Theo Ratliff's expiring contract is jealous of this deal. My lord y'all. Has the Pistons' front office been sniffing paint? Reggie Jackson is not a player worthy of that kind of cash. Hell, John Wall barely makes more than that!

6. Some of the State basketball players tweeted about a house party, and Bobby Lutz's response was the best.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="und" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/goacc?src=hash">#goacc</a> <a href="http://t.co/9AngBRjwYP">pic.twitter.com/9AngBRjwYP</a></p>&mdash; Will Thompson (@thrillis4) <a href="https://twitter.com/thrillis4/status/617519879604842497">July 5, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Seriously lost it at Anya saying the party would be extra turnt.

7. Coach K went on WRAL for a special Fan Town Hall interview, and took some questions from Twitter that were amazing. (h/t @joeovies).

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">...and if you thought the questions for Krzyzewski would be generic, you thought wrong. <a href="http://t.co/9ABUTrV5wJ">pic.twitter.com/9ABUTrV5wJ</a></p>&mdash; Joe Ovies (@joeovies) <a href="https://twitter.com/joeovies/status/616977711186051073">July 3, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Coach K's response to my question about whether he prefers Eastern or Western style BBQ, and Coach K said he liked both. Bruh. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!

And now, for your moment of wrasslin'...

THE JIM ROSS BAH GAWD MOMENT OF THE WEEK!!

Jim's back from a week long vacation, and he decided to head up to Vancouver to watch the US Women's National Soccer Team play Japan in the finals. As we all were, he was pretty floored by the result. Take a look!

Have a great week everyone!
