We got spirit: NC State wins fifth cheer national championship

On Friday NC State won its fifth national championship in cheer, besting the field in the Small Coed Cheer Division 1A championship in Daytona Beach.

My knowledge base is lacking greatly in this arena, but I believe "small coed" means there are four or fewer males in the squad. I believe the "1A" designation is the top division. I believe I could be way off on both accounts.

Regardless, YAY!

The Pack had no deductions in amassing a finals score of 95.98 to edge UT-San Antonio, which finished second with 95 points. Oklahoma State was third, and fellow ACC member Louisville was just off the podium in fourth.
