We’ve learned by now that there are seemingly endless ways in which Jaylen Samuels can be an effective football player. Steve Logan illustrates some of the mechanics of utilizing a guy like Samuels in the video below.

The matchup problems are more significant for FCS teams like William & Mary, since they tend not to have the same depth position-to-position as their FBS counterparts. And if they over-commit to containing one guy, they leave holes elsewhere. So the Tribe’s relatively conservative approach Thursday night is understandable, and while JaySam didn’t break any huge plays, he was still a significant contributor.

Sometimes you get stuck with a question that has no satisfactory answer.
