Kevin Keatts, guard recruitin’ machine! On Thursday, NC State picked up a verbal commitment from class of 2018 point guard Jamie Lewis, who is a consensus top-75 player. Lewis is considered a four-star prospect.
Lewis, who is from Atlanta, recently visited both Wake Forest and NC State and opted for the Pack, where playing time should be readily available in the fall of 2018.
Lewis doesn’t play above the rim but he has an impressive repertoire of acrobatic finishes around the rim, and he’s got solid passing instincts to go with a nice-looking jump shot. He’s also led his high school team to multiple state championships.
So in the back court, at least, Keatts’ rebuild is going well. In ‘18-’19, we’re looking at Markell Johnson, Lavar Batts, and now Lewis to handle the point; plus C.J. Bryce, Devon Daniels, and Torin Dorn at G/F. That should help take the early pressure off of Lewis, too.
