I know we’re a few days late on this (Thursday games always screw up my routine) so apologies for that everyone! Truthfully though, this one is worth the wait. We’ve got an absolutely sensational lineup of #goacc for you all to vote on today. I know we’ve had some absolute doozies so far this year, but this could take the cake. Let’s get down to it - who wins your #goacc moment of the week? Vote below!
1. David Cutcliffe’s swag is off the charts (via @marilyn_payne)
Cutcliffe is the best, y’all. No music? No problem. Nothing was going to stop him from dancing all over UNC for the third straight year.
2. John Krasinski doesn’t realize the picture someone sent him was actually Chris Paul.
Shout out to Bart for sending this to me, because it’s just incredible. I think my favorite part about this was the many people that replied to Krasinski with variations of IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE JIM!
3. ESPN decided to give NC State a new color scheme (via @jessacagiglio)
Woof. I’m glad NC State never went with blue as an official color. That just looks...wrong.
4. Louisville’s ACC soccer championship trophy went on an epic adventure (via @adavidhalejoint and @GWALLSID)
So this dude was holding the ACC soccer championship trophy on his lap. Flight attendant told him he had to stow it. "You sure it won't break?" he asks. "We can't guarantee that," she says. This could get intense. pic.twitter.com/yhSosQ0YMn— Hi, I'm David (@ADavidHaleJoint) November 12, 2018
New update: ACC champ poster does not fit in overhead compartment. All passengers are chipping in with ideas... pic.twitter.com/2q3aD3pZff— Hi, I'm David (@ADavidHaleJoint) November 12, 2018
Update: they moved a passenger, emptied a row, and two players are now sitting with the trophy which is buckled in. Flight attendants all appear to be blaming Bobby Petrino for the difficulties.— Hi, I'm David (@ADavidHaleJoint) November 12, 2018
Confirmed the trophy was gate checked on to Louisville. Team on layover in Charlotte. Not knowing how this epic journey ends is my own personal tragedy. God's speed, trophy.— Hi, I'm David (@ADavidHaleJoint) November 12, 2018
NEWS ALERT— Garett Wall (@GWallSID) November 12, 2018
The emotional story of the #ACCMSoccer trophy, a heart-wrenching adventure of trials & triumph, has concluded with a happy ending. The trophy & the champion Cardinals have arrived in Louisville.
Thank you @ADavidHaleJoint for your contribution to this story. pic.twitter.com/nvqJfKEEJM
I’m actually shocked through all of that ordeal that the trophy wasn’t damaged in any shape or form. That’s absolutely incredible. I do wonder how often that happens on flights for teams that have won a trophy.
5. The announcement that Louisville fired Bobby Petrino happened during the recorded broadcast of the Bobby Petrino show (via @KYSportsRadio)
The scroll of Bobby Petrino being fired came across during the airing of his Coaches’ show pic.twitter.com/lAWShlWwSV— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 11, 2018
This honestly might supplant the infamous Beamer 0-0 picture as the most #goacc picture of all time for me. The timing of that news scroll mashed up with Bobby Petrino’s face is just absolute perfection. “INSIDE THE CARDS WITH BOBBY PETRINO....WHO WAS ALSO JUST FIRED” probably isn’t a tv show that gets the green light. Was it intentional that Louisville made the announcement public during this show? Because if so, getting dunked on by your employer like that is just a brutal burn.
