Former NC State coach Mark Gottfried to be hired by Cal State Northridge

Former NC State head coach Mark Gottfried is expected to be hired by California State University Northridge, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. CSU-N recently parted ways with head coach Reggie Theus. Theus coached the Matadors for five seasons, amassing a record of 53–105 (26–54), finishing as high as 5th in the Big West conference. If nothing else, the schools in this conference have great locations. So, you know, great views and all that.

Gottfried has spent 20 seasons as a head coach, amassing over 400 career wins. In 15 of those 20 seasons he reached the postseason, either NIT or NCAA tournament. He spent six seasons with the Wolfpack, where he, well you know the rest.
