The 5th Man: Who should be our 5th starter - A case for Wyatt Walker

Did someone ask for Basketball posts? (looks at Spider.Wolf... I got you fam)

So after Monday, I have the whole week Off for my Birthday (which is Mother's day) So I'll Be writing Some basketball Stuff. Starting with who our 5th starter Should be.

I think Everyone can mostly agree who 4 out of our 5 SHOULD be I say mostly because there is some dissent around the 2 spot but I'll get to that later today or tomorrow in a separate post.

Markell

Daniels

Bryce

Dorn

But with the Absence of a returning post, our 5 spot is Wide open. And we have 4 legitimate candidates. Today we look at the newest one Wyatt Walker

Wyatt is a Grad Transfer with two years of eligibility left.

Time for some Pros and Cons

Pros

Experience: He's the only Big on our roster with any D1 experience even tho it is at a lower level though he had fairly good games against the higher level competition.

Size/Rebounding: He's a Legit 6'9" with a Widebody which he uses to Box Out and grab rebounds. He is also a dog on the boards, getting position, and the first jump to the ball.

Passing: Probably his best Skill is passing. Great vision can pass effectively out of the double team and hit cutter with accuracy.

Cons

Talent: Out of our 4 big his Talent Ceiling looks to be the lowest

Conditioning: May have some issues with conditioning coming into Keatts system based on Limited tape.

Final Thoughts: I think He is our best option to fill that 5th Spot. The experience and his rebounding are too much to overlook along with his passing.

I'll be doing little pieces like this through my week.
