You cannot properly kick off a national holiday without a good, solid, American fun fact. That is a fact, though not necessarily fun. This, however:
Not including NCAA sanctions record adjustments, last year dropped UNC back under .500 (121-126) in 20 seasons since Mack Brown left. 2015 is still the Tar Heels' only top-25 finish in that time.

Great fact. Big-time fun.
I had no idea that UNC has struggled to this degree over the last two decades, and while I have no particular love for Mack Brown, I do suddenly feel as though I owe him a nice fruit basket. Maybe two fruit baskets. I’m am filled with a spirit of giving, much as UNC was an impressive 126 times over the last couple decades.
NC State is responsible for 11 of those 126 defeats, or roughly nine percent of them. In that time, the Wolfpack has had two all-time greats wear the No. 9. Coincidence? Well, yes, probably.
Just bear all this in mind the next time some human-fart UNC dolt-wagon wants to have a talk about mediocrity. And enjoy the holiday, just a little bit more, comfortable in knowing that UNC is five games under .500 over the last 20 years, which is a long time, a very very long time. That 121-126 mark puts their average season OVER THE LAST TWO DECADES LOL at 6-6. Sorry this is probably not as amusing as I find it.
