The #goacc moment of the week (9/12/2018)

Y’all, we had our biggest vote total ever for the #goacc moment of the week last week - over SIX HUNDRED votes! That’s absolutely incredible, and a testament to everyone’s love of this ridiculous conference we call home. Onto this past week, where good LORD almighty did we see some pure absurdity. I have two early favorites for this week, but let’s see who wins! No time to waste, vote on your choice for the #goacc moment of the week below!

1. What in the world was this graphic they showed on Fox Sports? (via @JamesCurle)

Just....no guys. Just no. Don’t do that again.

2. ESPN had some trouble registering Thayer Thomas during the game against Georgia State (via @sixstring10)

I’m sure Thayer appreciates the anonymity ESPN, but there’s video of all of his plays from that game so it’s not like he’s some sort of secret weapon, as much as the Pack would like him to be. Shout out to anyone who ends up with a State jersey and put N/A on the back though, that’d be hilarious.

3. ECU put an absolute spanking on UNC and Fedora will probably want to forget this game too (via @patrick_mayhorn)

My goodness, UNC. That is real real bad. Special shoutout to the Shutdown Fullcast who predicted that game was going to happen like that (if you don’t listen to that podcast, it is HIGHLY entertaining). A lot of us locally knew if UNC didn’t win that game, they’d be in real trouble of winning a game any time soon.

The good news for Larry Fedora is that he won’t remember this game against ECU either, right? He just better hope Bubba doesn’t collect the UNC Booster Infinity Stones and snap his fingers and oh no he already did:

4. Duke’s punter has a better mouthguard than anyone in football (via @jacobschauf)

The only thing that would’ve made this picture better is after the punt he did the chef’s kiss motion. That would’ve been absolutely perfect.

5. Florida State has a turnover backpack (via @gifdsports)

Honestly, this should be what kills the turnover item fad. That’s not to say that I don’t like schools having a turnover item. There are a lot of teams that do this right - Boise State’s turnover throne is amazing, for example. Kennesaw State has a turnover plank and it is beautiful. What the damn hell is this, Florida State? A turnover backpack? I’d rather have Butch Jones’ dumb trash can from Tennessee last year. There are so many better things that y’all could’ve used. Who’s going to get excited to put on a damn backpack after making a big play? Especially while y’all were losing to SAMFORD! Needless to say, the Willie Taggart era in Tallahassee ain’t off to a great start.
