The #goacc moment of the week (9/19/2018)

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Buffalo Bills
“Hmm, I’ve done it before, and Mike Gundy can rock it. Maybe I should bring the mullet back.”
Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve reached week four of college football, and damn, y’all. The #goacc has really kicked it up a gear. I think we might have an even closer call this week than we did last week, where FSU’s horrific turnover backpack eked out a win. Several of you in the comments last week said it was one of the best slates you had ever seen, but just wait till y’all look at this week’s lineup. We’ve wasted enough time on introductions, time to vote! Who wins the #goacc moment of the week? Get your vote in below!

1. Louisville football is so bad that opposing teams are openly laughing at them (via @cwdarney)

Let’s break down what happens here, shall we? Louisville’s QB throws a perfect pass to a wide open receiver that the defender has zero chance of preventing a touchdown, and it goes right through his hands. That defender was so beat all he could do when the receiver dropped it was point and laugh at him. Somehow inexplicably Louisville still managed to win this game, but good lord do they look bad. UVA is favored against them this weekend by almost six points, that should tell you enough how bad Louisville is right now.

2. Florida State continues to be a dumpster fire on the field (via @bubbaprog and @samdcooper)

Oh man, this onsides kick attempt. What is the right half of FSU’s team doing? Did they think they were going to fake out Syracuse that they were going to kick it deep? There were barely six minutes left and they were down 16 points, of course the Seminoles were going to kick it onsides there. Then there’s the kick itself, which was miserable. Literally kicked it line a line drive right to Syracuse. Awful. But that was just one of many abysmal marks against Florida State in that loss. Worse though is the state of their offensive line. Just look at this:

#74 there had the worst blocking attempt I’ve ever seen. Did he even make contact on the initial block attempt? You can tell Francois has had enough of that crap too. Look at the look he gave that lineman at the end of that GIF. Brutal. Never seen Florida State this bad before.

3. Luke Maye looks strikingly like Dwight Schrute’s cousin Mose (via @RossMartin_IC)

Taking a break from football for a moment, good lord this is amazing. Someone is missing a golden opportunity for a sign at the game at PNC if they don’t use this somehow. Even the beard length is the exact same. Truly incredible.

4. Jacoby Brissett has a Waterboy jersey (via @HolderStephen)

Where does one even purchase one of these? That is fantastic.

5. Philip Rivers used to rock a mullet and I have questions.

As much as Philip is part of Wolfpack lore, how in the world has this picture never surfaced until now? How long did he rock that mullet? It’s safe to say Philip has loved bolo ties for a long time, too. Imagine Philip’s famous reactions, but with that hair. LEGEND! I need; nay, the WORLD needs this hair back, Philip. Let the flow return!

Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t recognize the retirement of a #goacc legend. A few days ago, Jeff Bzdelik announced he was retiring from his job as a member of the Houston Rockets coaching staff. Jeff will forever be a part of the early days of #goacc, and famous for moments like this:

Jeff, thank you for moments like these, and hope you get to enjoy your retirement. Share your favorite Bzdelik moments in the comments below!
