Bah GAWD in heaven y’all, do we have a DANDY of a week jam packed with #goacc. This is the third straight week in a row where I’ve said (and many of you have said in the comments) that “this is the toughest slate of #goacc we’ve ever had.” Guys, no BS here: this week may never be topped, it is that good. We had 550 votes tallied for last week’s article as of the writing of this edition. For this week, I want to see close to 1000 votes because I think it’s the only way to honor this spectacle. Time to jump in and vote - which one of these entries earns a LEGENDARY #goacc moment of the week? Vote below!
1. Louisville does not understand the new fair catch rules (via @iftonytweeted)
Your #goacc play of the week: downing the kickoff at the 1 instead of fair catching it. pic.twitter.com/1Ei3giklKb

Good grief. Where to even begin with this? All he had to do is signal fair catch and it would’ve brought the ball out to the 25 yard line! Did he not realize he wasn’t in the endzone?
Needless to say, Louisville got smoked by UVA. The Cardinals are very, very bad right now.

You want the “Truth”bisky? Mitch is never going to bring a Super Bowl to Chicago with the mediocre at best stats that he has. Picking him at number two will forever be a head scratcher to me.
3. Let’s check in on Philip Rivers and how he feels things are going in Los Angeles (via @willbrinson)

Someone, anyone, please figure out how to get Philip off of the Chargers. This team is never going to win anything and he deserves to be on a team that’s going to win something.
4. Swag Cutcliffe is back, y’all (via @bridgetabc11)

I think many of us that follow the ACC felt like that once our #goacc King, Frank Beamer retired that David Cutcliffe could be a darkhorse to take that title from him someday. He’s well on his way with these phenomenal dance moves.
5. Russell Wilson is still annoying as hell (via @akulawolf)
Should I run to the defense of my teammates? No, I shall go grab the ball in case it’s still live because I’m the world’s most obnoxious overachiever pic.twitter.com/gyUCy6my2d

“You know at the end of the day, I’m just trying to make a play. I’m always trying to make a play for our fans, because I love our fans. We’re always grinding in the gym, working out really hard to get that opportunity to make a play.”
“Sir, this is a Wendy’s.”
6. Wake Forest’s kicker hilariously forgot it was time to kick a field goal, promptly misses it (via @bryandfischer)
“Uh, where’s the kicker?” pic.twitter.com/mCoBTL5B8C

Hey, was he just trying to do his best Chris Dunn impression from a few weeks ago (that I definitely should’ve included in that #goacc post)? Is this the new hot trend in college football, forgetting that it’s time to kick a field goal? At least Dunn made his; can’t say the same for Wake Forest, though. Brutal day against Notre Dame. But if you thought that was brutal...just wait!
7. Old Dominion beat Virginia Tech in an upset of historic proportions (via @cfbheather and @joeovies)
Old Dominion pulled off the biggest upset of the season so far, as the 29-point underdogs shocked No. 13 Virginia Tech 49-35. It was the biggest upset by an FBS team over an ACC opponent in the past 40 seasons. C-USA had lost 52 straight games against ranked nonconference...
— Heather Dinich (@CFBHeather) September 22, 2018
I cannot even begin to describe how absurd this is. Old Dominion was WINLESS! They had lost games to the following teams:
- Liberty (lost 52-10);
- Florida International (lost 28-20); and
- UNC Charlotte (lost 28-25).
Old Dominion almost scored more points against Virginia Tech than they had in their three previous games combined. Old Dominion passed for 495 yards against the “vaunted” Bud Foster defense. I know everyone talks about what a major upset Appalachian State over Michigan was, but this loss to ODU is every bit as big of an upset in my opinion. Virginia Tech has a lot of soul searching to do.
The Monarchs are reveling in this, as well they should be. Just look at how they continued to dunk on Virginia Tech on social media:

But wait...
It gets worse for the Hokies!!
8. Virginia Tech’s official sports website published a link after losing to Old Dominion assuming they had won (via @thekeyplay)

Holy moly, Hokies! Get someone in your athletic department to proofread stuff! You’re just adding salt to the wound.
