Dave Doeren announced today that redshirt freshman Devin Leary will start at Quarterback for NC State for their game at Wake Forest this Saturday. This seemed like the most likely scenario, but given how the season has gone so far nothing is confirmed until it happens. But then it’s happened, so there’s no sense in trying to predict which things will happen if you only know what will happen after it has happened.
From the DD presser:
— Joe Giglio (@jwgiglio) October 28, 2019
- Devin Leary officially the starter at QB
- The injury report is this .. https://t.co/k0gT4dvuhQ .. plus no TE Dylan Parham
It was noted that Leary has taken practice reps with the first team all during the bye week, so this decision was likely made right after the BC loss. Leary came in for then-starter Bailey Hockman and had 259 yards, 3 TD’s, and 0 interceptions in nearly three quarters of work in Chestnut Hill. Will he be the one to help break the streak in Winston Salem?
Injury count for the rest of the team is still redonkulously high.
