In news I wasn’t expecting to hear today, NC State extended head coach Kevin Keatts’ contract an additional two years. Joe Giglio reported with the N&O that school’s board of trustees on Friday and it extends Keatts’ contract through the 2025-26 season.
The existing contract was reworked in December of 2018, and the new deal does not change any of the compensation ($2.7mil/year) merely adds two years, taking him through the 2025-2026 season. If he continues recruiting guys like Cam Hayes, I’m doubtful there will be many complaints for him being here that long. It’s also possible the looming NCAA decision regarding the previous coaching administration’s actions may have motivated the school to lock in the current staff, just to avoid any potential wandering looks.
