WBB: Sophia Hart

According to ProspectsNation, N. C. State has made an offer to six-four (maybe six-five) Sohpia Hart. Within Chris Hansen's post titled "Midwest Upper Classmen Standing Tall" , Chris has this to write about Sophia:

The number of quality post options seems to dwindle year by year. So when you have a talent like Sophia Hart who is 6-5, has great hands, and knows how to use her body on either block, you get why she has garnered offers from DePaul, Iowa, Marquette, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Utah and Wisconsin, among others, already. She forced teams to double her and handled that extra pressure without showing any panic. The direct comparison is to Megan Gustafson who just finished an amazing senior season at Iowa.

Sophia, a member of the 2021 class, is ranked by ProspectsNation as the 39th best player in her class. Chris compares Sophia to Megan Gustafson as noted above and Pack Women's Basketball fans saw enough of Iowa's Megan in the sweet sixteen this past season to hope that State gets a commit from Sophia, but that may be difficult as she is from Marquette, Minnesota.

We might take a look at what Hoopgurlz writes about Sophia who is ranked 43rd in her 2021 class by the sight and is given four stars and a scout's grade of 92 (92 is pretty low for that ranking with 95 being more in line with the past):

Under Armour Nationals-July 2019: Blue-collar low-post prospect brings skilled interior game, footwork, produces results; defensive presence in the block, rebounds and initiates the fast break; mobile in uptempo game; consistent workhorse on the boxes; continues as a stock-riser in the class of 2021. (Olson)

USA Trials-May 2019: Physical low-post performer displays soft touch in the block, elevates over defenders in the key with consistent results; blue-collar persona, pounds the glass, scores against contact; rebounds and initiates the fast break, mobile in transition. (Olson)

Adidas Gauntlet-July 2018: Low-post prospect brings interior footwork, physical presence in the block; skilled in back-to-basket game; physical defender, workhorse in the block. (Olson)

North Tartan Summer Jam-June 2018: Blue-collar low-post performer with nimble footwork, finishes plays in traffic; powers through the opposition in the paint; mobile in uptempo game, brings competitive persona to the block. (Olson)

Having followed Hoopgurlz for a number of years, being given a rank of 43 in a class with four stars gives a player a good chance of earning five stars during her senior year. Good luck to us with regard to landing Sophia.
