ACC men’s basketball coaches in agreement that every day is casual Friday

NCAA Basketball: Maui Invitational-Wichita State at Notre Dame Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

College basketball coaches have had an unusual amount of time on their hands in 2020, what with the season being cut short and recruiting travel being shut down, and sometimes, you can really really tell.

Last month, for example, the ACC’s men’s basketball coaches launched a public effort to support the inclusion of every single D-I team in the 2021 NCAA tournament. That, uh, didn’t work out.

This week, the ACC’s coaches got together and agreed that the wearing of suits shall be canceled.

Mike Brey has dreamed of this day. In fact this whole thing was probably Mike Brey’s idea.

We need to get this season going, man. Or possibly limit the coaches’ ability to connect via Zoom, because this may well get out of hand by November. What will they agree to next? That they should each get a bottomless supply of chicken fingers to eat on the sidelines? That the bucket hats they normally leave for fishing trips should be kosher at all times?

This will be anarchy, total anarchy, if we don’t keep a closer eye on these guys.
