NC State baseball has had some rough finishes to the year each of the last few seasons, but ultimately the program has been in much better shape than the MBB or FB program for virtually my entire life. As such, it doesn’t really come as much of a surprise that State has opted to extend Elliott Avent’s contract through the 2025 season.
The skipper is going to be around a little longer! Excited to announce that head coach Elliott Avent's contract has been extended through the 2025 season. ⚾️

Avent is set to lead the Pack in 2021 as he begins his 25th season in Raleigh as the lead man in the dugout for the Pack 9. The 2020 season unfortunately ended early due to the whole “the entire world is on fire” pandemic thing, which left us only being able to see 17 games of the Nick Swiney and Patrick Bailey battery in 2020. The 2021 squad should be a talented one given the changes made to the 2020 MLB draft that led to a lot of talent opting to join / return to college baseball in 2021.
I guess this means I’ve still got a few more extra years of hoping that we’ll one day see a big time donor step up and give Avent and the Pack 9 a home ballpark that is on par with many of the program’s peers across the ACC and SEC.
