NC State announces attendance changes to home events in response to COVID-19

In-person access to live sporting events on campus will be greatly limited moving forward

In an unsurprising announcement this morning, NC State has decided to severely limit in-person attendance to upcoming sporting events on campus.

Effective immediately and beginning with baseball and men’s tennis home events this weekend, NC State will limit attendance to essential personnel, student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials, credentialed media, broadcast partners, and limited family members and guests. These events will be closed to the general public.

There will be a future announcement regarding how this will impact other events moving forward, but you can pretty much bank on this being the M.O. for events through at least the remainder of the month.

While it stinks, there’s nothing wrong with going the safe route in trying to both protect the players, coaches, and fans while also attempting to allow athletic competitions to continue.

Hey, at least it’s not the Ivy League who went ahead and cancelled all spring sports this year.
