The NCAA has put an end to fall championships in the sports that it controls. That does not include major-college football, but this is a bummer all around nonetheless, as this nixes championship events for soccer, cross-country, and volleyball.

NC State’s cross country teams are really good, and the women’s team might have contended for the national championship. Now we’ll never know.
