Good news Sunday morning: NC State safety Khalid Martin has been discharged from a Roanoke hospital today, and he is heading home. They kept Martin in the hospital overnight for observation, after he was injured during a scary collision in the second half of NC State’s loss at Virginia Tech.
Great news this Sunday morning: Khalid Martin is being discharged from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital w/ no ‘radiographic abnormalities’ and heading back to Raleigh.— NC State Football (@PackFootball) September 27, 2020
Martin was involved in a scary collision while making a tackle—he took an inadvertent shot to his head from a teammate and afterward was immobilized on the field. It was frightening at the time but they do this stuff out of an abundance of caution, and they were worried at the time that he might have suffered a spinal cord injury.
Thankfully, that was not the case.
