Volleyball: State Now On a Four Game Winning Streak

The smiley face is definitely back. State is now 11-8 overall; 5-3 in conference after beating Syracuse 3-1 and Boston College 3-1. That is four wins in a row.

Against Syracuse (14-5; 3-4) State lost set one 25-23 and then won sets two, three and four 25-22; 25-17 and 25-21. Five-ten Jade Parchment and six-three Taylor Rowland were big with 19 and 18 kills respectively in the match. Kristen McDaniel had 32 assists and Maggie Jones had 20. State had 65 kills, 7 blocks, 63 assists and 19 errors. Syracuse did have more blocks than State with 10. One might still think State is commiting too many errors and not getting enough blocks.

Against Boston College (12-10; 2-6) State won sets one, three and four 25-16, 25-15 and 25-15. State lost set two 25-23. Six-one Melissa Evans had 21 kills in the match while Jade Parchment had 14. Kristen McDaniel had 27 assists while Maggie Jones had 25. State as a team had 65 kills, 7 blocks and 15 errors. Boston College had 37 kills, 11 blocks and 25 errors.

Next up for State are at UNC Wednesday at 8 p.m. and home against Duke Sunday at 4 p.m. Both are ACC Network games.
