Volleyball: State Takes Down Duke 3 Sets to None

State went on a 5-0 scoring run to win set three and run Duke out of Reynolds with a three sets to zero match win. State trailed set three 24-21 before going on that 5-0 scoring run to win the set 26-24. State won set one 26-24 and won set two 25-20.

Jade Parchment led State with 12 kills while Melissa Evans had 11. Maggie Jones had 18 assists while Kristen McDaniel had 13. State had seven blocks to Duke's 9 and 16 errors to Duke's 16 errors.

State improved to 12-9; 6-4. State's next two matches are at Clemson Friday night at 7 p.m. and Georgia Tech Sunday at 1 p.m. State then host Louisville at home Friday November 5th. Louisville, ranked 2nd in the nation, is undefeated at 20-0 while Georgia Tech is ranked 13th.

Every time I watch a match, head Coach Luka Slabe receives high praise from the analysts for the match. Certainly helping to coach the 2021 Olympic Gold Medal U.S. Women's Team makes one feel that State has a very good volleyball coach who may do for volleyball what Coach Moore has done for women's basketball.
