NC State wrestling stays hot on the recruiting trail

The Pack continues to reel in top-level talent.

We’re fortunate to have several coaches at NC State whose success we take for granted, and Pat Popolizio is certainly in that group. Popolizio has built a strong wrestling culture in Raleigh where none previously existed, and he continues to recruit at an elite level.

NC State’s 2021 class ranked in the top 10 nationally, and its 2022 class will finish there as well. On Sunday, the Wolfpack picked up a commitment from Matthew Singleton, who is a top-10 prospect in the ‘22 cycle.

From Earl Smith at InterMat:

Singleton joins an already-loaded recruiting class for Wolfpack head coach Pat Popolizio. They have commitments from #16 Chase Horne (GA), #29 Jackson Arrington (PA), #32 Dylan Fishback (OH), #60 Finn Solomon (PA). NC State continues to put together stacked recruiting classes. The 2021 class was ranked fifth in the nation.

Seems good! The Wolfpack is bringing back a lot of veteran talent for 2021-22 as several guys opted to use the extra year of eligibility, but there’s no shortage of young talent right behind those guys. NC State is aiming to improve on its sixth-place finish at NCAAs this past spring. And win another ACC title.
