WBB: State's 2023 Class Ranked 4th by ESPNW

Diamond finishes in traffic 1

As far as i know State did not have a 2022 class for Women's Basketball instead reloading the team with very talented transfer portal players Saniya Rivers, River Baldwin and Mimi Collins. Not to worry about the team's future after this season's grad students and seniors depart because Coach Moore and staff signed according to ESPNW the fourth best 2023 class as to date. State is fourth behind Arizona, Uconn and Stanford and ahead of fifth UNC.

This of course can change as seven "top twenty" players have not committed and some have UNC, Duke and Louisville on their list. One hoped that State had a shot with Chloe Kitts who is number 17, but State has been dropped from her list. We still have a shot with six-seven Letycia Vasconcelos who is ranked 36th in her class, Hoopgurlz, and who is given four stars and a scout's grade of 95 by Hoopgurlz. State offered Letycia in August of 2020. Might be a long shot. Letycia has not listed any schools according to Hoopgurlz. Letycia would certainly be a great addition to State's 2023 class.

This about State's class from ESPNW:

Highest-ranked commit: G Zoe Brooks (No. 9)

Coach Wes Moore bolstered his roster with several impact transfers, and the 2023 recruiting class will complement that talent well. Zoe Brooks is a scoring machine who knows how to put the ball in the hole. An incredible finisher and creative shot-maker, the 5-10 Brooks has worked herself into great physical shape as she prepares for the next level. No. 55 Mallory Collier is a traditional back-to-the-basket post player with good hands and footwork. She is good on the offensive glass and has some upside. No. 56 Laci Steele is the ultimate glue player on the perimeter. She is a gritty shot-maker and proved over the summer that she is not afraid of the big moment. No. 71 Maddie Cox is a skilled forward who can stretch the floor and fill several holes with her versatility and glue-player effect.

One might note the big jump by Zoe Brooks who was ranked 33rd in her class by Hoopgurlz when I penned a post about her commitment in September. Zoe besides being ranked 9th in her class, is now given five stars and a scout's grade of 97 by Hoopgurlz. McDonald's All-American for sure.
