Wow - Campbell was playing pretty solid defense all night and State did not get many quality chances in the second half. With time running down in the second half, Campbell pushed forward to try and break the impasse. State regained possession near the middle of the NC State side of the field and immediately launched a long ball back up the field. Joseph was one on one with a Campbell defender and you could see the writing on the wall. She beat the defender to the ball and despite being held and also losing one of her shoes, she put a low hard shot by the goalie for the win. The Campbell defense had been putting bodies on her all night to try and prevent just such a scenario. She had also picked up a yellow card in the second half on a questionable call and had been really frustrated most of the second half. Nice for her to get some vindication at the end of the game. I am sure there will be a good clip of that goal posted to Twitter soon. Definitely should check it out once it is there.
