Y’see what I mean, folks? I spend all this time hemming and hawing about football previews and finally decide to move forward on them and then NC State has to pause all athletics activities because of an outbreak among athletes, including football players. Whatever, I shall taunt the universe a second time by sticking with my decision.
With football off the practice field for the time being, let’s see what else is going on around here:
— Trea Turner is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak and is hitting .311/.383/.575 on the season.
Trea Turner entered today hitting .406 over his 8-game hitting streak.

This 2-run triple was his 3rd hit of the day.@treavturner // #NATITUDE pic.twitter.com/jXgcWKaqwp
Turner currently has a career-best OPS.
— The Carolina Hurricanes have a new practice facility, which also means the NC State club hockey team has a new home.
This place is going to be an awesome setting for Canes practices and youth hockey games for years to come. The Red Rink has a seating capacity of nearly 1,200 people. pic.twitter.com/8lwYyaamr0

It’d be cool to see them start to draw good crowds on a regular basis. They’ve certainly been good enough to warrant it.
— The AP’s preseason college football All-America teams are out and include a bunch of players who aren’t even going to suit up this fall, which seems ... silly. But, y’know, congrats to those dudes and whatnot. I’m sure they’re All-Americans off the field as well.
