The College Football Playoff selection committee changes members every few seasons, and NC State Boo Corrigan is among the new group set to start a three-year tenure on the committee this spring. Which is to say that Boo Corrigan now has the distinct honor of helping decide how to order Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma in each of the next three seasons.
I’m just kidding. Well, partly kidding. Slightly kidding.
Others joining Corrigan on the committee: Texas AD Chris Del Conte, Virginia Union AD Joe Taylor, Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart, former Nebraska player Will Shields.
I’m hopeful that the change in personnel will lead to some better internal logic from the committee moving forward—it’s not that they’ve messed up picking the proper four teams for the playoffs, but rather, and especially this last year, had serious problems ordering teams in the next tier. The 5-20 range in the CFP top 25 impacts, among other things, where the best G5 teams end up in the bowl picture.
Anyway, congrats to Boo on the appointment.
