Hello. Omega couldn't be here this week, as he is currently in Nicaragua attempting a coup. I think. He was dodging all my questions. Anyway I told him to bring us back some AK-47s. Shooting guns into the air after victories is going to be our new thing.
Offense has been somewhat lacking in this weekend's series between Maryland and NC State, as you may have gathered from the title of this post. Carlos Rodon was outstanding on Friday night, and the Terps weren't able to push a run across until the eighth inning. State scored all three of its runs in the first, thanks in part to some sloppy UMD defense.
NC State jumped out early on the Terps again Saturday, but the Pack couldn't manage a single damned base hit after the first inning. Maryland starter Brady Kirkpatrick needed just 85 pitches to get through seven innings, and his offense managed to scrape together just enough runs to get him the victory.
So that sets up the Sunday rubber match, and with State now just 4-7 in the ACC, it's kind of important. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. ET, and you can watch the game on ESPN3. If you dare.
