I really enjoyed this exchange between Elliott Avent and a reporter Tuesday:
"Were you hoping North Carolina pulled out that game today?"
"I didn't watch it..."
"You weren't hoping [the Tar Heels] were gonna win?"
"Oh lord no; I didn't have a dog in the fight. We coach our team. I got a little bit of a tie to South Carolina because of Ray Tanner and Sammy Esposito who played for me here at NC State, the son of legendary Sam Esposito. So if there was a tie to anything it was that. Like I said I didn't watch any of the game so there wasn't an opportunity to pull for anybody. We're about preparing for people not pulling for people."
Write that down.
