The 2014 MLB Draft begins on Thursday with the first and second rounds, which will be covered live by the MLB Network, along with the sandwich picks. (Mmmmm sandwich picks.) Carlos Rodon's fate should be determined quickly--his status as the clear overall No. 1 pick might not be as inevitable as it once seemed, but he's certainly going to land somewhere in the top five.
Rodon was the subject of a recent MLB Network piece, which you can watch below. Former Wolfpack pitcher Dan Plesac got the interview honors.
The Astros have the first overall pick on Thursday night, followed by Miami at No. 2, the White Sox at No. 3, the Cubs at No. 4, and the Twins at No. 5.
Coverage of the draft gets started on MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET, with the picks starting at 7 p.m. Fortunately, it's not at all like the NFL Draft, which by comparison has an eternity in between picks.
