NC State is back in the dance after missing out last season. The Wolfpack landed in the Ft. Worth Regional, where they are the No. 2 seed and host TCU is the No. 1. State will open the regional against third-seeded Stony Brook, while the Horned Frogs play fourth-seeded Sacred Heart.
#Pack9 headed to Fort Worth for NCAAT, wrapping up media now. Will post release to GoPack in a bit with more info pic.twitter.com/kUVKtmnzdc

TCU finished the season 43-11 overall and earned the No. 7 national seed. The Frogs have only lost a pair of home games all season, so this is going to be a challenge, no doubt about that. Advancing out of a regional as a road team is tough--State's never done it under Elliott Avent. (It's worth noting here also that State has never failed to advance as a regional host under Avent. Again, winning these things on the road is tough.)
But this Wolfpack team is cookin' right now. These guys were well outside of the NCAA tournament at-large field a month ago and not only played their way into the field, but nearly made themselves into serious regional host candidates.
NC State's game against Stony Brook will air on ESPN3 Friday afternoon. The winner of the Ft. Worth Regional will advance to play the winner of the College Station Regional in the Supers. Here's the full bracket.
