NC State-ECU baseball game canceled because of weather

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains. Weather compelled NC State to cancel its home baseball game against East Carolina on Tuesday night, and game will not be re-scheduled. And so we lose the lone regular-season matchup between the top-10 teams.

ECU was willing to play on Wednesday, but NC State, apparently not so much. This being the internet, the whole deal led to a bunch of useless back-and-forths on Twitter of the nuh-uh/yeah-huh variety. If ECU fans want to believe that NC State was ducking the Pirates, that’s their business but alas doesn’t change the fact that we’ve all missed out on a great game.

But fear not, folks, there is a non-zero chance that these two teams get matched up such that they would play in the super regional round (aka sweet sixteen) of the NCAA tournament, so we may yet find out which fan base owns the bigger truck nuts.
