NC State’s ongoing success in weekend series continues to propel it up in the NCAA tournament field. The latest college baseball bracket projection from Baseball America has the Wolfpack as the No. 4 overall seed, in an opening regional with South Alabama, St. John’s, and Yale.
As a top-eight seed, NC State would also host in the super regional round, assuming it advances out of the opening regional, which is a pretty good bet. NC State has only failed to advance out of a Raleigh Regional once—and you probably remember which one that was.
In the supers, NC State would host the winner of the Clemson regional. Baseball America has ECU as the No. 8 seed and UNC as the No. 9, which means they would be matched up in a potential super regional. After the events of this week, I’m still hoping that State will end up opposite ECU, but that will require one of the two teams to start dropping games.
