All 16 NCAA baseball tournament regionals get going on Friday, and while a 32-game schedule makes complete television coverage impossible, six games will air between ESPNU and ESPN2 on that first day. The SEC Network will televise two more. The rest, including NC State-Campbell, you’ll have to find on ESPN3.
None of the Greenville Regional’s games are scheduled for regular television coverage this weekend, but at least the streaming productions have gotten better as the years have gone by.
The Greenville Regional schedule:
Friday, May 31
Game 1: (3) Campbell vs. (2) NC State (Noon ET, ESPN3)
Game 2: (4) Quinnipiac vs. (1) East Carolina (6 p.m. ET, ESPN3)
Saturday, June 1
Game 3: Game 1 Loser vs. Game 2 Loser (11 a.m. ET, ESPN3)
Game 4: Game 1 Winner vs. Game 2 Winner (4 p.m. ET, ESPN3)
Sunday, June 2
Game 5: Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Loser (Noon ET, ESPN3)
Game 6: Game 4 Winner vs. Game 5 Winner (6 p.m. ET, ESPN3)
Monday June 3
Game 7 (if necessary): Game 6 rematch (1 p.m. ET, ESPN3)
A 2-0 start in this double-elimination format hugely swings the odds of advancing in your favor, since coming out of the loser’s side means having to win twice on Sunday and again on Monday—and by the fifth game of a weekend, any pitching staff is going to be taxed. NC State’s done that before—at home—but it’s not recommended.
