An abbreviated five-round MLB Draft will begin on June 10, and while the college baseball season was cut short, it doesn’t look like that’s going to cost Patrick Bailey (or Nick Swiney) any money. Bailey was a projected first-rounder heading into this season and that hasn’t changed.
Here’s a quick run down of some recent mock drafts:
Carlos Collazo, Baseball America: Patrick Bailey to the White Sox at No. 11 overall
Adam Wells, Bleacher Report: Patrick Bailey to the Cubs at No. 16 (ew)
Jim Callis, MLB.com: Patrick Bailey to the White Sox at No. 11
Keith Law, The Athletic: Patrick Bailey to the White Sox at No. 11; Nick Swiney to the Dodgers at No. 29
I’m sensing a theme here and for entirely selfish reasons I hope these Bailey-to-the-White-Sox projections prove accurate.
