Well, this is unpleasant. NC State pitchers Kent Klyman and David Harrison were arrested Wednesday on felony breaking and entering and assault and battery charges. Both players have been suspended from the Wolfpack baseball team pending the resolution of their cases.

NC State released the following statement:

“We are aware of the charges and await additional details. The student-athletes involved have been suspended from athletic participation pending resolution of this matter in accordance with the NC State Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.”

These are disturbing charges and it’s possible that both guys have played their last games in an NC State uniform. Klyman has been a mainstay in the bullpen for years, though he had struggled this season, posting a 12.00 ERA in six innings of work. Harrison has made four appearances this season, including two starts, and has a 3.72 ERA in 9-2/3 innings.
