NC State has come full circle in 2021, going from preseason top-15 team, to preseason top-15 team that looked like a big disappointment, all the way back around to top-15 team again. After taking two of three from Florida State over the weekend, the Wolfpack moved up to No. 15 in the latest Baseball America poll, and to No. 16 in D1Baseball’s top 25.

We are a week away from the NCAA tournament selection show and depending on what happens in Charlotte this week, NC State could make a compelling case for earning a No. 1 seed in a regional.

What we know for sure already is that State won’t be playing in Raleigh in said regional: the NCAA has already announced 20 potential hosting sites for the postseason, and Raleigh is not on that list. This isn’t the normal process, but the NCAA deemed it safer to do things this way this season.

We’ll see how things shake out, but the Pack is probably going to wind up a two-seed somewhere. Unless of course this team does finally break through in the ACC tournament.
