Richard Howell Signs With French Team; NBA Summer Ball Update

Jason Miller

Richard Howell has a deal with a pro team in France called BCM Gravelines Dunkerque. I believe they are known as the Asbestosmen.

Howell joins former N.C. State player Danny Strong - the current coach for Fuquay-Varina's basketball team - as a member of the French club and was the first rookie signed by the team this summer.

David Noel is also on the team, if wikipedia is accurate. Howell is still with the Nuggets' summer team in Las Vegas despite the signing, and they're set to play tonight at 10 p.m. ET against Milwaukee. C.J. Leslie and Scott Wood both played on Friday, and neither one had the debut they were hoping for.

Wood scored five points on 2-7 shooting and grabbed three boards off the bench. Leslie was a starter for the Knicks squad and played more than 25 minutes but hit just two of nine field goal attempts. He also attempted a pair of threes which is puzzling since he took only six for NC State all season. I'm sure there were nerves involved--Tim Hardaway Jr. had a rough game as well--so hopefully he'll be able to relax the next time out. The money time for CJL doesn't come until Knicks training camp, anyway.

Lorenzo Brown and the T-Wolves will be in action at 6:30 tonight. These games air on NBA TV if you have the means.
