Maverick Rowan trimmed his list to NC State, St.John's, and Wisconsin on Monday but doesn't expect to make a final decision until August, according to what he told Scout. Rowan has to finish up the course work necessary to complete his reclassification to 2015, and he also needs to take visits to Wisconsin and NC State.

Rowan visited St. John's last week. He's a St. John's legacy.

Rowan's father - Ron - played at St. John's and played one season with new St. John's coach Chris Mullin. Maverick said he's just now getting to know him.

"I've just recently met Chris Mullin," he said. "He's a great guy and I play the same position he did. If I go there he could help me improve myself to help me become a pro.

Rowan decided recently to reclassify from 2016 to 2015, and his recruitment has been moving quickly since then. Between Rowan and Georgios Papagiannis--who is also being recruited by the Johnnies--NC State has the chance to have some unprecedented late-cycle recruiting success. It's not often that talented kids like this are drawing out the recruiting process almost right up to the start of the fall semester.

So NC State's 2015-16 roster is still very much TBD, with the possibility of major additions along the wing and at center possible. And it's nearly July. Strange days.
