The annual coaching carousel brings with it a lot of turnover on the recruiting trail as well. Kids who were committed and or signed to a certain coach often reconsider when that coach is fired or goes elsewhere.
Case in point: four-star point guard Blake Harris, who had signed with Washington and got out of his LOI after Lorenzo Romar was fired. Harris, who played at Word of God in Raleigh, paid a visit to NC State on Wednesday.

Harris is a class of 2017 player; he does not need to sit out a season despite signing with Washington. Since he was let out of letter-of-intent, he can choose whichever school he wants, with no restrictions. He’s from the east coast, and his time spent playing at Word of God makes him a logical target for Kevin Keatts.
It’s a little late for a new coach to go looking all over the country for help from the prep ranks, but if somebody in your back yard happens to come available, that’s a different story. Harris could still end up on the west coast, but the odds of that seem a lot less likely than they were a month ago.
