Five-star wing Brian Bowen’s attentions have been a bit scattershot during his recruitment, which might be the biggest reason why he still hasn’t signed with a school. Bowen has drawn plenty of interest from myriad high-major programs, including NC State, and he will make his school choice official Saturday.
There appears to be no suspense involved, however, as Bowen is already enrolled at Louisville, per Jeff Greer of the Louisville Courier-Journal. The relationship between the Cardinals and Bowen developed really quickly, per Greer, as Louisville hadn’t been considered a factor until this week, basically. But recruiting is nothing if not strange, especially to those of us looking at it from the outside.
So Bowen is enrolled for summer school at Louisville but has yet to sign a binding letter of intent, according to Greer, which I guess leaves open the door for one more surprise on Saturday afternoon. Most likely his destination is a foregone conclusion, though.
Bowen was always a long shot for Kevin Keatts and NC State. I think we’ll be able to forgive Keatts on this one for his inability to work a recruiting miracle.
