Immanuel Bates visited NC State this past weekend, and has opted to cancel future visits to Georgia Tech and South Carolina and instead make his college decision at 10 a.m. on Friday morning. Scout’s Evan Daniels has the report.
A recruit cancelling visits and announcing a decision date mere days after visiting NC State seems like a good sign, but what do I know about this stuff. (Nothing, really.)
Bates is a consensus four-star, top-100 player in the 2018 recruiting class from Fayetteville’s Northwood Temple Academy. Among the major recruiting services, he’s rated highest by ESPN, which has him at No. 78 overall.
He looks like a good fit for what Kevin Keatts wants to do: he’s pretty quick and he’ll bother some shots with his athleticism, and both of those attributes are useful for a team that wants to press. His offensive game clearly needs some work, but there’s no doubtin’ that the dude can throw down some big time dunks. This highlight video is almost all dunks.
Hooray dunks! Please pick NC State, tall person. We need tall people.
