Is Kevin Keatts finished recruiting for 2018? Nope, not quite yet, even though technically NC State doesn’t have any scholarships available for next season. (That will likely change.) Five-star shooting guard Anfernee Simons—a former Louisville verbal—will be on campus in a couple of weeks and would be a significant addition to next year’s roster.
But Simons is also draft-eligible after spending a postgraduate season at IMG Academy in Florida, which means that his college decision—if he decides to play in college—is going to be a ways off. Like any other prospect, he can declare for the draft and go through the workout process and remain eligible for college as long as he does not hire an agent.
If he does that, he’ll have until early June to withdraw from the draft.
Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Florida State are among the other schools recruiting the 6-3 guard, who is the No. 10 player in the 2018 class.
