NC State makes the cut for 5-star wing Wendell Moore

Unfortunately, so did Duke and UNC.

It’s shaping up as Big Four battle for five-star small forward Wendell Moore, who is one of the top prospects in the 2019 class. Moore plays for Cox Mill in Concord, NC, and he will be playing his college basketball somewhere close to home. His final five schools are NC State, Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, and South Carolina.

I am no recruiting expert but I suspect that Duke and UNC would be considered the front-runners for Moore’s services. Which, yanno, fair. I’m told they have good basketball programs, so good for them.

Moore plays with the sort of effortlessness that is apparent in a lot of top prospects—he already has a great frame and he uses it to his advantage and makes all the basketball things look easy. This is why he is a consensus top-25 player in the 2019 recruiting class. I don’t know if he’ll end up being the one-and-done sort, but he looks the part.
